The idea is to make a small watercraft that is capable of navigating long distances autonomously. Ideally it would be cool to create a system that can run under wind power and electric power. It would be able to alternate between these modes based on weather conditions, battery conditions and navigational requirements.
After thinking about things, I think an all electric solution might be easier so create. Creating an autonomous sailbout might be more complex than making an all electric system that uses the wind to charge batteries.
